Plays out a bit like an Akira Kurosawa movie with its aesthetics, its non-linear, and as some may initially suspect, unreliable narratives. A historic drama of ethnic conflict and violence, dominated by masculine fights and bloodshed, that eventually flips on its head and becoming progressively feminist, a powerful rebuke on what it means to be "heroic".
