The struggle fought between 1895 and 1918 by British women to gain the right to vote, focusing in particular on the determining role played by the Pankhurst family.

这才叫励志剧，非常cathartic. 主创明显下了大功夫做研究，historical accuracy很高，largely free of made-up melodrama, 台词大量引用了本剧主人公们的原话。对WSPU不那么美好的一面也没有轻描淡写，无论是Christabel Pankhurst的increasing despotism, 把the Pethick-Lawrences赶出运动，还是后期Sylvia Pankhurst与母亲和姐姐决裂。一战的段落尤其精彩，画面变成黑白，Pankhurst母女三人的演说场景与前线和兵工厂的历史影像交错，曾经反对布尔战争的Pankhursts此时被反普鲁士的insania席卷，为战争摇旗呐喊，只有一直参与工人运动的Sylvia仍在坚持和平主义，令人唏嘘。
